Key Responsibilities

• General Repairs: Perform routine repairs including basic plumbing (unclogging drains, fixing leaks), electrical fixes (replacing light fixtures, switches), and carpentry.

• Turnover & Cosmetic Maintenance: Handle drywall patching, painting, and basic tiling to keep resident rooms and common areas in excellent condition.

• Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of building systems, safety equipment (emergency lighting, fire alarms), and HVAC filters to prevent future issues.

• Groundskeeping: Ensure walkways, entrances, and outdoor areas are safe, clean, and well-maintained.

• Emergency Response: Promptly troubleshoot and resolve immediate facility or structural issues to ensure resident safety and comfort.

 

On-Call & Weekend Expectations

• Availability: This position requires standard weekday hours, plus participation in  on-call schedule for evening and weekend emergency responses.

• Emergency Scope: Must be available to respond to immediate facility emergencies (such as major leaks, power outages, HVAC failures, or security/safety system issues) outside of normal working hours.

 

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience: Proven experience in general building maintenance, handyman work, or a related trade.

• Skills: Strong troubleshooting abilities across multiple disciplines (carpentry, plumbing, painting, and electrical).

• Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Attributes: Excellent time-management skills to prioritize urgent tasks, strong communication skills, and a respectful, compassionate demeanor when interacting with elderly residents and staff.
